ORIGIN: Katsumi Kimura worked in a corporate office for over 12 years where they had a gym available for employees. Everyday he would go to the gym during lunch, seeing the same people building relationships with multiple members. It quickly became a culture of fitness and true friendships. The level of competitiveness was incredibly high and they would constantly tease each other and would jokingly act like "Meatheads". They would laugh nonstop in between sets and before long it became an idea where multiple influences were included in the script and characters.
HOOK: Have you ever started working out to get "swimsuit ready"? Have you ever cared how you look and had a desire to be physically attractive where all eyes are on you? That's every day for these Meatheads. All they care about is looking good and having enormous biceps. Unfortunately that's the only thing they're good at and the only thing they care about. Completely disconnected with reality they unknowingly struggle to survive in the world beyond the gym. Think "The Office", but set in a muscle gym, filmed like "Entourage", with the humor of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".
THE MEATHEADS
MAC: The unofficial leader of the group, Mac is known for his popularity, good looks, and charm. He is highly regarded and respected by everyone. Mac exudes confidence and possesses extensive knowledge about working out from proper form to "supersets". He has a well-toned physique and is considered attractive by many. The ladies are particularly fond of him. Mac is a caring individual who is always willing to lend a helping hand. However, he doesn't shy away from pointing out flaws in others' form or calling out gym etiquette. He remains composed and relaxed, not one to engage in fights but also unafraid of confrontation.
CASS: Beautiful, confident, and always "swim suit ready." Cass is a stunning and self-assured individual. She effortlessly captures everyone's attention and is fully aware of her allure. She shares a close bond with the Meatheads, who are always there to support and defend her. However, Cass is more than capable of taking care of herself, often intimidating men with her presence. She is both beautiful and vain, placing great importance on her appearance. Cass is superficial and quick to criticize men, showing little concern for others' opinions because she knows she is desirable. While not ditzy, she does seem somewhat detached from reality.
JC: Although incredibly laid back and soft spoken, JC is not one to underestimate. He will confront you without hesitation with strength and confidence. He has a large build similar to Mac. He is a little goofy, always looking for validation but the life of the party. He cares more about looking "cool" and having good style than having a good workout. Listening to music and singing while flexing in the mirror are more of a priority than getting an extra set in. He is also very protective of Cass but also really values everything she has to say and the advice she gives from a female's perspective. He is also not a fighter but is quick to have his friend's back. JC is very "go with the flow", almost to a fault.
MCCARTHY: More biceps then brains, McCarthy is the biggest Meathead of the group. He is enormous, very tall, has huge arms, and good looking. The only problem is that he's dumb. No seriously, he's dumb as shit! The only thing he is good at is working out. He will do anything it takes to get bigger biceps and to look better. He is fixated on body fat percentage and thinks that your physique is the determining factor of your success. McCarthy takes multiple supplements without regard to the potential side effects (many of which aren't approved by the FDA). He is currently developing a revolutionary protein that is 60% more effective, the only thing is that it only serves as an extremely effective laxative. He has a very short temper (that many refer to as "roid rage") and is quick to get into senseless altercations.
DESIRES: When introduced to the Meatheads it quickly becomes apparent their only desire is working out. But with the attention span of gnats, they find themselves easily distracted by pretty women, superficial conversations, and materialistic status. Struggling to accomplish the simplest of tasks they are unaware how unqualified they are to be a productive member of society.
OBSTACLES: Being goal-oriented isn't effective when you have the IQ of a toddler. When trying to save the gym from closing the Meatheads have found the perfect way to keep the gym open, except they are oblivious to the fact that their ideas to keep the gym open are useless (ex: having a bakesale to raise the $100K needed to save the gym).
HIGHLIGHTS: When in the gym, the Meatheads are as happy as can be. They have fun admiring their progress while flexing in front of the mirrors. Along the way they engage with other members including Zoey, the attractive but somewhat airheaded yoga instructor, and Leslie, the 5 foot 6 personal trainer with a Napoleon complex. All is normal until they are confronted with their rivalry gym, the Crossfit gym. This sparks the most intense feud the fitness community has ever witnessed.
OPEN ROAD: Do you even lift, bro? In this gym there are no "cheat days". Every episode is a new adventure of idiocracy! Season 1 Synopsis: You will get to know the Meatheads and how they interact with each other in comparison to the outside world of the gym life they know. They are heartbroken when they discover the gym has to shut down due to financial difficulties. The Meatheads try different approaches that they believe will save the gym, such as running a bakesale where they end up losing money. McCarthy also attempts to become a social media influencer, despite only having 15 followers. Meanwhile Zoey, the somewhat absent-minded yoga instructor, is over the moon excited that her millionaire boyfriend is taking her to Paris. However, her excitement turns to disappointment when she realizes he meant Paris, Tennessee, and she feels like she wasted her entire summer learning "Spanish" in preparation for the trip. Towards the end of the season, Hank, the gym owner, announces the good news that he was able to keep the gym open. The Meatheads celebrate their victory as if they had won the Super Bowl. However, Hank frustratingly explains that they did absolutely nothing and that he just got the loan approved from the bank. It goes in one ear and out the other and they continue to celebrate only to get interrupted by their rivalry gym, the Crossfit gym. The members from the "Muscle Hustle" gym confront the Meatheads (similar to the scene in "the Sandlot" where the rivalry preppy baseball team come to challenge them to a baseball game, but on their field) and they challenge them to a Crossfit challenge, setting up the chaos that is Season 2.

Four meathead gym rats struggle in the world outside the gym since their only strengths are working out and making protein shakes.

WHY: Meatheads is NOW! It is a show that appeals to older generations who are familiar with the gym culture and have encountered similar individuals in that setting. This unique plot is perfect timing with the life of influencers growing rapidly in the younger generation. They will undoubtingly latch on to this series developing a cult like following where they will find themselves saying "I'm Mac," "Nah, you're McCarthy, I'm Mac!" Throughout the series you will be introduced to many characters keeping the audience engaged and on their toes. This is a concept that would be successful in many other markets as the workout community spreads word wide.

Creator: Katsumi Kimura is of Japanese descent, and his culture has greatly influenced his success. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous talented artists, including the Dixie Chicks, Relient K, and Devon Gilfillian. His work has been featured in various magazines based in Los Angeles, and he has been invited to showcase his art in numerous galleries over the years.
